Nick Foles injury sees Jacksonville Jaguars acquire Josh Dobbs from Pittsburgh
The Jacksonville Jaguars have acquired quarterback Josh Dobbs in a trade with Pittsburgh.
The Jaguars gave up their pick for Dobbs, that had been in his third season with the Steelers in the 2020 draft. He had been a fourth-round choice in 2017.
Dobbs, who’s played five career games, will back up newcomer Gardner Minshew. Minshew completed 22 of 25 passes for 275 yards, with an interception and two touchdowns, in his NFL debut.
Minshew substituted Foles from the first quarter and finished 88 percent of his passes, getting the most accurate single-game passer in Jaguars history (minimum 25 attempts).
His completion percentage was the highest for any player with at least 15 pass tries making his NFL debut.
His clavicle that was left struck on the 10th play of the year of Jacksonville. He landed and was struck while projecting a 35-yard TD pass to DJ Chark.
The Jaguars placed Foles on injured reserve. When he is designated to return, which is exactly what the group anticipates, Foles will be eligible to return to clinic in late October and would be eligible to play in Week 11
