Prix de l’Abbaye next target for Invincible Army

James Tate is eyeing a crack at the Qatar Prix P l’Abbaye in Longchamp Following month after the colt’s creditable effort from the Flying Five Stakes at the Curragh, for Invincible Army.

The four-year-old stayed on strongly in the closing stages to take third place at the trip behind Fairyland at the Group One dash.
Invincible Army has left his mark, since finishing second to Havana Grey in the Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood as a juvenile.
However, his effort on Sunday buoyed Tate and today gets got the Abbaye in his landscapes.
“He is as clean as paint and trotted up sound – therefore we have got lots of options – but probably it’s going to be the Abbaye, I would have thought,” said Tate.
“He raced well. He was in a Group One at five, so on his very first attempt for two or three years, so we could give it a second try.”
Underneath The Stars may also visit Longchamp for your Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac, after leaving Tate”defeated” when denied a smooth passing in the Moyglare Stud Stakes.
Her chance had gone at that time the girl of Night Of Thunder acquired a clean run – beaten just two lengths by the winner, Enjoy.
“She was bothersome since she got stuck in a pocket behind the winner and the second, so she got out before the last furlong,” said her coach.
“She conducted a solid-enough racefinishing fifth, but I thought maybe she would have picked up a bit of black kind had she got a clean streak.
“She was drawn five of nine, and the pace was not overly quickly, and she got a fresh run at it.”
Tate retains hope that there is more to come.
He added:”She wasn’t beaten far, (and) I was satisfied with her conduct, but I’d like to believe we could be a little greater than that.
“I can see the very likely race to her being the Prix Marcel Boussac.
“There’s the Rockfel, weekend following at Newmarket, however if the weather remains dry that might be on the side for her – so we might go to Longchamp instead.”
