Brendon Todd two clear in bid for third consecutive PGA Tour win
Brendon Todd moved a step closer after opening a two-shot lead in the RSM Classic in Georgia to finishing a PGA Tour feat that was infrequent.
Todd, looking to become the first player to win three consecutive PGA Tour events, also published a bogey-free 62 at Sea Island.
The American, who was world No 525 until he followed success in the Bermuda Championship by winning the Mayakoba Classic on Monday, heads to the final round on 18 .
Webb Simpson is one of two players after bogeying two of his last seven holes, sharing next together with Colombias Sebastien Munoz , with DJ Trehan that a further stroke back in fourth.
Strokes off the lead, Todd followed a 10-foot gain at the next and emptied a 20-footer at the first by picking up shots at the ninth and seventh and observing back-to-back birdies.
Reaching the turn Todd moved forward using a close-range profit at the 11th and rolled in a 10-footer in the 17th.
While Munoz submitted three birdies in a four-hole extend from the 11th in his approach into a 66 to get within two of their lead, simpson moved up the leaderboard with a blemish-free 63.
Overnight leader Tyler Duncan slipped after earning 18 pars together with Swedens Henrik Norlander leading the fascination to stay below for the week and at tied-eighth.
