New Zealand 71-9 Namibia: Defending champions run riot in Tokyo
New Zealands power and class eventually shone through as they wore down brave Namibia 71-9 in Tokyo.
Namibia matched the All Blacks and battled, and New Zealand led only before stepping up their game to break clean because they won the 50 moments and run in 11 tries 61-0.
Sevu Reece, Anton Lienert-Brown and Ben Smith all spanned with Jordie Barrett, Joe Moody, Sam Whitelock, Angus Taava along with TJ Perenara also touching down, for a set of tries. Barrett added eight conversions for a personal haul of 21 points.
Damian Stevens kicked Namibia into an early lead before New Zealand scored their first try after five seconds.
Barretts cross-field kick was gathered by Reece to go in about the correct and they went over again midway through the half through Lienert-Brown, who stretched clear of the defence to touch down.
The Welwitschias came back within a point through a pair of Stevens penalties and continued to battle and compete with the All Blacks.
New Zealand were reduced to 14 men when prop Nepo Laulala was shipped after making contact with the head of JC Greyling from the tackle.
Prop crossed together with Barrett converting, for his first Test try.
The bonus point was secured once Smith powered after a controlling scrum if Jack Goodhue drifted the ball up to him to send the All Blacks to the rest with a 24-9 lead.
New Zealand broke the game open with seven more tries after the period.
Moody went over to the right and his third conversion was sent more than by Barrett. Lienert-Brown maintained his second attempt of the game after Barrett weaved his way through a run of tackles that were Namibian and spun the ball wide for him to get down.
Reece restricted a textbook All Blacks move as they spun the ball wide for the quick winger to proceed in.
Captain Whitelock left it attempts in 16 minutes after he graduated from a different strong forward spike at the bottom of the upright.
Smith went over for his second try of the match 13 minutes as hands kept the ball alive and also the full-back appeared around in the corner.
Ofa Tuungafasi became the second New Zealander to be delivered from time for a swinging arm into the head at a tackle.
Barrett spanned for the 10th try as New Zealand surged after a lineout after picking up a behind-the-back pass from Brad Weber and jump through three tackles to touch down at the corner, before Perenara wrapped it up.
