Chris Silverwood favourite to take over as England head coach
England are close to appointing a new head trainer with Chris Silverwood the favourite for the job.
Discussions over the consultation have been occurring this week end and silverwood, whos currently Englands bowling coach, was interviewed for the job, Sky Sports News knows.
Hes presently set to substitute Trevor Bayliss, who departed after four years in charge last month as head coach, and an announcement could be made as early as a week.
Gary Kirsten, South Africa trainer and the former India, is understood to have been interviewed from the ECB.
Silverwood is familiar with the England set-up using functioned under Bayliss, and won the two branches of the County Championship while.
The 44-year-old, who had been a pace bowler using Yorkshire, played with six Tests and seven one-day internationals for England between 2002 and 1996.
Hes now set to become only the second Englishman to coach the national team.
