Why expect a drop in the Washington Wizards?
The three-headed monster of John Wall, Bradley Beal and Otto Porter Jr. continues to be trending up. Each man is moving toward his athletic prime and building chemistry with the other members of this triumvirate while seeking to maintain himself as a premier talent at his respective place. Wall is currently there, and another two aren’t far behind.
And if you’re concerned about the seat, do not be–just not for the reason you might expect.
Last year’s second-stringers were atrocious. They routinely squandered leads and dug inescapable holes to the starters. This season’s bench collection should not be much better, as Tim Frazier, Jodie Meeks and Mike Scott aren’t precisely marquee additions. And that is almost irrelevant.
The non-starters are bad. We know that much. However, the starters are still in place, along with the Wizards posted an 8.1 internet rating annually when Wall,” Beal, Porter, Markieff Morris and Marcin Gortat were on the ground together. Even with all the putridity supporting them, they pulled their troops to 49 wins.
So again, why should we expect anything else this season, particularly when the team was in the second half of through the year’s opening salvo?
