BetOnline Review
It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about this, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more companies — namely online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, gambling online would be far more fun…and not as stressful.
I would bet that BetOnline wishes that they did. They’ve made choices a few years back that is likely cost them tens of thousands , hundreds of thousands, possibly even millions of dollars, due to lost business from bad PR.
We are going to be sharing some examples of these with you in our review. Because while we wholeheartedly recommend BetOnline to our customers — and believe that now they’re a safe and legit gaming company — we think you have the right to know the entire story before deciding to play here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?

First Things First: What Can BetOnline Do You?
What just did BetOnline do to make a lot of people mad?
We think that a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor decisions spans the spectrum of shady behavior, which range from telling enjoys to withholding money to having poor security.
There are loads of examples we could show you. But LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the job for us. They discovered several examples, which you can find for yourself on their BetOnline review.
Here is our TL;DR variant:
BetOnline Told a Fib
After BetOnline first introduced their poker product, they whined about what system it was around. They first claimed to be about the Hero Poker Network, even though they were actually about the Action Poker Network. There were stories about how they had been about the Chico Poker Network, but were kicked away.
Afterwards reports (from BetOnline) indicated that things were nice and fixed, which BetOnline was (and still is) on the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to like about, eh? (Although we might lie too if we had been on a shoddy network like Action.)
Everyone agrees that BetOnline lying was a stupid move and a lousy way to market a new item. It doesn’t exude confidence. And it makes you wonderwhy do they lie about something so trivial in the first place?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money out of customers. The justification was almost always because the customer allegedly cheated, even though no evidence was provided from BetOnline (from the examples we’ve read).
1 case that caught our attention was of a pro who had 60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline said he cheated. They refused to send him his hands, but did offer to send him the hand histories which revealed him jobless (for evidence ).
He got them though. What he did get was empty promises about the way they were on the way, and also the runaround when they never showed up. They told him they could not send him the hand histories since the files were too large.
(Anybody who understands anything about internet poker and hand histories — let alone about downloading files to your own computer — understands what a crock this is. And, why would not you send evidence someone cheated in case you do not have anything to hide?)
Finally Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and helped the player get his money back. His final update mentions being alleviated about the way it worked out for him personally , but also said the same thing happened to his friend.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Had BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the player did do anything wrong — he chip-dumped to his buddy. But here’s the kicker:
He also chip-dumped to his friend at a HEADS UP table at which no one else would be hurt. He did it his buddy could have an additional $50 to play at BetOnline.
The funny part is that they were playing from the exact same house at the moment. Most sites would not even let two people from the exact same IP address sit down at exactly the same table but BetOnline did.
The individual had his account suspended (way after the fact, whereas many sites would’ve caught it much earlier ), which no disputes or thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What IS however, is how they needed to also take his $37,000 he earned since that episode.
Forum members indicated that many legit websites would never have allowed two people from the same IP to sit at the exact same table. And, if they did, as soon as they suspected chip dumping had happened, the player’s account would come under review. He would never have the opportunity to earn the $37,000.
However, now he did, BetOnline desired it. But, technically, the cash should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s actions (that wasn’t any one). So it’s ridiculous BetOnline thinks they should be able to retain it.
BetOnline Knows Your Own Passwords
The last example we want to share is an instance in which a BetOnline rep outed how the staff understood their client’s passwords and login amounts. It is possible to see the live chat log in here.
The original poster has a good point. If everyone in the business has access to your login information, what’s stopping them from conducting a VPN, logging into account and taking your money?
The BetOnline rep did not have a fantastic answer, only a”ha ha ok sir.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the forum thread and you’ll see more examples. It is ridiculous.
What’s even more absurd is how these instances are a drop in the bucket in comparison with the sheer number of (similar) complaints against them. A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will also keep you occupied.
Then BetOnline Does One Funny: They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During the exact same time BetOnline was struggling, SportsBetting.ag was unable to. They were struggling to pay their clients.
Thent a couple of months later a story broke — BetOnline obtained SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part was not so much the acquisition, it was the simple fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all of the current and past payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most of all, the new investment group is dedicated for SportsBetting.ag winners compensated at a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee future and past payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep said. “However, since there’s a large backlog of pending payouts, they need to be conducted through different fraud checks, fulfilled and guaranteed. Once the backlog is finished, clients will experience drastically enhanced payouts thanks in part to updated payment choices, including same day options.”
No one knows precisely how much BetOnline had to make in past payments. In fact, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” to find more than $1.5 million in obligations that was not reported from the prior management. So I think it would be safe to presume that the previous debts exceeded $1.5 million — and apparently BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Honestly, we have had difficulty finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from over the past year or so.
There are a few complaints; normal stuff all companies face that we’ll address in the future in our review once it makes sense. Nonetheless, it looks to us like the vast majority of BetOnline’s problems are over.
They even have satisfied customers, if you can believe it.
Now, what exactly does that mean to you? In the event you forget and forgive? Are they secure enough for you to join, make a deposit and playwith? We’ll be honest — there is no way we would’ve played at BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we had heard or known about any of those reports above. No one in their right mind could. You’d be safer light your money on fire.
And we don’t wish to downplay the errors they have made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure applications is not to be dismissed.
But since purchasing SportsBetting.ag and adding new direction to manage operations, things have improved drastically. So much so that we’re comfortable now urging them to our subscribers.
And it is not just us. If you look at other BetOnline reviews, you will see similar thought processes. In most cases the reviewers condemned them for their activities (in 2011-2012) and advocated NOT playing with there, only to have a change of heart once they saw how much BetOnline altered.
So, here’s where we stand on the issue —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from an ideal sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their own shortcomings, the most recent of which we highlight in our review below.
However, as best as we could tell, they’ve righted their wrongs and continue to improve on what they currently offer to players. We feel secure using accounts here.
It is up to you to decide if you feel the identical way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
With their previous out of the way, let us jump into what’s important today — and that’s what BetOnline offers in terms of banking, betting options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline offers a solid selection of banking options. However, you will want to remember that what’s available to you will be determined by your geographical area.
Let us begin with their deposit options.

The biggest complaint about deposits are their 6% fees for debit and credit cards. They are one of the only sites which charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s one of the additional kinds, charging 4.9 percent.

What I do not like is how you are going to pay a commission for every banking choice. Even bitcoin, which is typically free at most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to pay a 2% commission.
Nevertheless, I have seen firsthand testimonials from clients who say they have received payments over 10 days, bank transfers over 3 days and bank cables in 2-3 days. This is quickly considering they’re in the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it on their site, but I have seen reports which indicate BetOnline provides you a $50 charge every month if you place in your request on a Friday. In many cases this will not cover the entire fee, but it’s far better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Would You Bet On or Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” business. That means you can bet on sports betting, play poker and casino games.
Their longest standing, and probably most popular product, is that their sportsbook. So let us begin there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on sports, horses and finances.
In their sportsbook they more or less cover the most popular sports in america. Those include:
Auto racing
Baseball
Basketball
Boxing
Cricket
Darts
Football Golf
Hockey
Martial arts
Rugby
Snooker
Soccer Tennis
Lacrosse
Softball
Olympics
eSports
You can also bet on stocks and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Football Cycling
Formula One
Darts
Hockey
Horses
Pro Football
College Football
Pro Baseball
Pro Basketball
College Basketball
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Rugby
Football One option they have added recently is eSports. It’s no surprise really, given how fast that business is growing. Each bookmaker is leaping on the bandwagon and offering odds on all the greatest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, also, though it looks like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — that they just have moneyline odds for one match-up / league. Compare that to Bovada who’s covering 5+ games around about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It’s a large difference. I mean, who would you rather go to for eSports betting?
That having been said, I think it’s a fantastic idea to give BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It is possible they’re still trying to find their bearings in this growing marketplace. Maybe they have plans to enlarge their eSports choices in the near future.
What they do have going for them is that their odds on the match-up I am comparing to Bovada. They’re offering marginally better pricing for the same exact match.
There’s no way to tell if that’s always going to be the case, nor will it matter whether they never expand this section of their sportsbook.
However, it’s reason enough to keep tabs on them.
They provide live betting also. These options vary continuously, obviously, to coincide with what events or games are going on. When I last looked they’d lines for soccer, tennis and baseball. You can also keep tabs on a few games simultaneously utilizing their multi-event tab and program for future games with their live betting calendar.
1 thing they’re known for are their higher-than-average betting limits. These vary from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will probably max out between $1,000 to $3,000. But it only depends. You can also increase your wagering amounts by contacting their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a reasonable number of promotions, and much more than you will see in their own racebook and financials section combined. A few of the better options include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your first deposit up to $2,500.50% Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is more or less insurance — create a bet and if you lose, they will reimburse you up to $25.
Beyond that you’ll see a listing of races in their main webpage. Each listing tells you how many open races there are, which when you click on it will expand to reveal the races, horses, jockeys and chances.
If you’re unfamiliar with their site or horse betting, a good section to search through is their racebook information tab within their own navigation. Here you’ll find information on:
Their monitor limitations. This lets you know the maximum you can bet per race.Payoff chances. Find out how much you will make in case your wager (s) win.Their rules and the types of bets you may make.Horse betting hints, FAQs and terms (in case you don’t know what a word or phrase means).
It’s a fantastic section if you’re new to horse betting.
And that’s about it. This segment is far smaller than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a couple offers too, though nowhere near the quality or volume their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7 percent rebate on your stakes daily with no min volume or caps on how much you can earn. $25 Risk Free Bet — Create a wager for the very first time in the racebook. If you lose BetOnline will refund you around $25.
Last up is that their financials section. Here it is possible to wager on currencies, indices and commodities. Your betting options include signature, range, turbo and one touch. The assets/markets you can bet on will depend on your bet kind.
This segment looks like an afterthought. It certainly will not get the focus or advertising BetOnline’s other segments do.
Their poker room is among the most popular alternatives for Americans. They are a part of this Chico Poker Network, who’s 13th in overall traffic rankings, but is 3rd for US poker websites. When I last checked they’d about 2,100 players on their site.
In 2016 BetOnline conducted a much-needed software update. In the past they had many complaints regarding the quality of the software. This included complaints about fuzzy graphics, poor sound and animation quality.
But following their update we have seen suggestions they might have some of the greatest software in the US market.
From worst to best in 1 upgrade? That might be pushing it. But based on the images I have seen, their applications DOES look much better.
However, there are still several places BetOnline can improve.
Right now they have a download for PC and Macs. However, they don’t have any choices for cellular players, and that we believe is a no-brainer in this era. Additionally they only provide holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It’d be wonderful to see more game choices.
In general, though, it is nice to see they’re making improvements and are becoming more aggressive with what other top tier US poker websites offer.
Speaking of that, a Number of the poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They’ll match your deposit 100% up to a maximum of $2,500. They cover out this to you $5 at one time. You’ll have 60 days to clear the deal. $50,000 GTD — They’re operating a $50,000 warranty for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline promises more than $90,000 in championship prize pools each and every weekend.
They’ve a couple of leaderboard and money race challenges, also.
And it is not just a”bonus,” however, the games here must be softer because of the US traffic and the crossover traffic from their sportsbook or casino. Earning money from their poker tables should be simpler here compared to other poker (only) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you will find a great deal of game choices ranging from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their games come from both Rival Gaming and BetSoft applications, both of which are famous for creating topnotch games. Here is the way their games breakdown:

LIVE CHAT (for actual money accounts only)
One thing to point out here are the reports I’ve seen about how BetOnline’s support is unfriendly.
1 example came from a poker player turned site reviewer. He shared his experience, which was one of the worst I’ve heard ever, let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt in Gaming the Odds:
Considering that BetOnline’s poker software isn’t high quality, I expected them to shine at customer service. How else could you explain the prevalence of the poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In fact, during their live chat service (and that I just need to mention it in this BetOnline review)I had the worst customer service experience in my entire life up to now.
Following the live chat session began, I had to wait for a couple of minutes before the customer support person bothered to answer, not just completely ignoring my question but asking for my password and username as well. Would you feel comfortable entering your username and password to a live chat box? I sure did not.
I clarified that I don’t wish to input that information into a chat room and, more importantly, the query requires no such advice because it had been about BetOnline.ag in general. I had to wait for ten minutes for”assistance” (I use that word loosely here), while getting”Thanks for waiting. I will be with you in only a minute…” every now and then.
That said, I have also heard that the opposite. A reviewer that actively plays on BetOnline states they provide exceptional customer service. He also says that your very best choice is to benefit from the live chat (only available to account holders).
Their experiences are polar opposites. This implies to people that BetOnline might have inconsistencies with how they handle customer care…an
