Brewers vs. Cardinals MLB Pick – August 19th
The Milwaukee Brewers will Visit St. Louis Following a couple of wild times in Washington against the Nationals.
Saturday night proved to be a fantastic crazy, but Sunday was a crazy bad day for its Brewer pitching yesterday day. The Brewers outlasted the Nats at 14 innings to get a 15-14 win in a fun game for those fans. It was not an enjoyable game at all for the bullpens.
The Brewers’ bullpen required the event that was lengthy tougher. Their pitching team got hammered yesterday day letting 16 runs at a 16-8 loss. Milwaukee added 4 9th inning works to soften the blow to produce the score a little more respectable.
Chase Anderson got off to a dreadful start Sunday to put the wheels in motion for a challenging day on the bulge. Anderson allowed 10 earned runs in just 2.1 innings and Aaron Wilkerson was tagged for 5 earned runs in 4.1 innings. The crime wasn’t likely to be making that up, therefore it was an early loss for the Brewers because one.
The Brewers are at the middle of a tight NL Central and wildcard race in the National League. They’ve a good prospect of winning one of the two or nothing in any respect. This is a Very Important series for the Brewers and Cardinals.
Between the Brewers, Cubs, and Cardinals that there are only two games separating everybody in the NL Central. The Reds and Pirates have been out, but everybody else is in play in the branch. Having a solid series across the Cardinals and the Cubs slipping upward this week, the Brewers may be atop the NL Central at the end of the week. A little simpler said than done.
Zach Davies, who was the best pitcher in the Brewers’ rotation, will look to respond after struggling mightily recently. The Cardinals are expected to counter Dakota Hudson. Head under for our complimentary Brewers vs. Cardinals pick.

Zach Davies is a leading option for the Brewers within their rotation this season. While the majority of the rotation was fighting, Davies was the one outlier who had been delivering on the bump. It was very striking and Davies was on pace to break his past career-high ERA of 3.90 place in 2017. I will dismiss the 3.71 ERA he posted in six starts as a rookie since it was not a full year .
Davies is obviously on pace to beat an ERA of 3.90, but he’s making it difficult on himself down the stretch. Davies enters with an ERA of 3.74 and 1.39 WHIP, but his recent excursions are putting a career-high in uncertainty today. He also posted a 11.77 ERA, 2.00 WHIP, and .400 OBA in his previous three starts, enabling 18 runs in 13 innings of work.
Davies also has not done well against the Cardinals in his profession. The Cards are hitting .300 with 21 runs scores over Davies at 130 at-bats. In his last trip to St. Louis, Davies was great but the Cardinals were much better with a 4-3 victory. Along with Davies struggling lately, their bullpen is probably going to be drowsy after the previous two times in Washington.
Dakota Hudson has been coming off a standout performance against the Royals in Kansas City. He gasped that the KC lineup for no runs across 6 innings of work. The Warriors took care of the rest, as the Cards enjoyed a 6-0 triumph. Hudson has enabled more than 3 runs in only 2 from 25 looks. Using just 1 game with over 3 runs scored from him, Hudson has been the model of consistency, since April 21st. Anticipate the Cardinals to open a large series against an inter-divisional competitor with a win in Busch Stadium on Monday night.
