Neal Skupski along with britain’s Jamie Murray recovered from a set down from Jackson Withrow and Americans Jack Sock to attain the semi-finals of these men’s doubles at the US Open.
Battling back from a break down in the third set, Murray and Skupski rallied to win 4-6 6-1 7-6 (7-4) on Louis Armstrong Stadium.
Even the 15th seeds have won eight of their past 11 games as a set.
Murray is in mixed doubles semi-finals activity in the future Wednesday.
Partnering American Bethanie Mattek-Sands, the winners face third seeds Samantha Stosur and Rajeev Ram for a place at the final.
Meanwhile, Britain’s Luke Bambridge, together with Japan’s Ben McLachlan, will rival a US Open quarter-final against Robert Farah and top seeds Juan Sebastian Cabal, together with the winner of that match interview Murray and Skupski in the past four.
The US Open is Murray and Skupski’s second Grand Slam outing as a doubles pairing, having exited Wimbledon in the first round in July.
Scot Murray, 33, has raised a title every year.
He won the men’s doubles with Mattek-Sands and at 2018 using the mixed doubles in 2017 and Bruno Soares in 2016.
At 4-3 upwards in the first against Sock and Withrow, as the Americans broke in the very next match, two break points which could have enabled them to serve for the group were missed by the Britons and were instantly punished.
The Britons responded however, breaking serve twice and conceding only one game in a dominant second-set showing.
The momentum swung again in the third since the US pair raced into a 4-1 edge, but Murray and Skupski levelled before shutting the out with three unanswered points.
