Anapurna and Star Catcher set for Vermeille clash
Investec Oaks heroine Anapurna Appears set to Shoot Star Catcher in the Qatar Prix Vermeille at ParisLongchamp on Sunday.
The John Gosden-trained fillies have been absent because their Classic triumphs, but remain on track to clash from the Group One prize at the weekend.
It is something which has recently come on to this agenda for Anapurna, as stated by the Newmarket handler Even though the choice to wait for the race proved to be a simple one for Star Catcher.
Gosden said:”They’re looking towards the Vermeille in the present time. Star Catcher was always going to the Vermeille.
“When Magical and Enable turned up at the Yorkshire Oaks, it looked a little bit unfair to place Anapurna against two elderly fillies of that course on her first run back because the Oaks.
“She has been in fantastic shape and she will most likely run there, afterward in Ascot. She needed time off following Epsom, as she was occupied early on.”
When bidding to get a Group 2 hat-trick in the DFS Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster on Thursday, ahead of a Group One 38, enbihaar will need to withstand a penalty for the next race in series.
Gosden said:”We plan to go to the Park Hill together with her. She might well visit the (Prix) Royallieu (in ParisLongchamp around October 5) too, because she has three weeks between races.
“We had believed about Ireland, but we made a decision to stay here and take the penalty.”
