Raffle Prize chasing Group One glory in Cheveley Park

Raffle Prize will aim to resume winning ways at the Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket.

Mark Johnston’s filly has had a stellar year , winning the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot and the Duke of Cambridge Stakes.
She shot from the Prix Morny outside around the last time, dropping little in defeat once beaten a neck by the brand new star Earthlight of Andre Fabre.
Johnston said:”She will await the Cheveley Park now. It was a run that is good and that there were no excuses.
“It looked like she’d much prefer far better floor, but might apply to this winner.
“You’d expect she’d get better ground at Newmarket, as there’s no greater fall track than Newmarket. Everything is nice with her, touch wood”
Stablemate Communique could nevertheless return to Germany looking for a first Group One victory – but Johnston is also considering the Canadian International and Japan Cup having put a line during his final run behind the highly-impressive Ghaiyyath.
“He essentially missed the break drastically with the blindfold still on this that wasn’t him,” stated that the Middleham handler.
“There is the Grosser Preis Von Baden in just two weeks’ period, however would we dare shoot him back after two crises in Germany? I don’t understand. I’ve not really looked at what your alternatives are.

“You’d think the Canadian International would be a suitable target, but also you wish to be going into these races around the back of runs.”
