Craig Halkett: Hearts defender out for 10 weeks with knee injury

Hearts defender Craig Halkett has been ruled out for around 10 weeks manager Craig Levein has verified.
The centre-back was forced past weekend throughout their goalless draw with St Mirren off and tests have revealed hes suffered medial ligament damage.
Halkett was a regular fixture in Leveins side in the first stages of this effort, scoring four goals at the Scottish League Cup and making 12 appearances in all competitions.
Levein said:We have a fair idea, it will be about approximately ten months . however, it might be less or slightly more. Its disappointing on a number of fronts, obviously for ourselves since hes been doing well, and because hes been doing well.
After the midfielder was also forced off in St Mirren with a hamstring issue, hearts are also likely to function as Loic Damour for Saturdays visit of Kilmarnock.
He hasnt trained this week thats a sign he might struggle for tomorrow Levein stated. The strategy is that he is going to do something today and then well need to see if theres a response tomorrow before we could make a decision.
