Craig Halkett: Hearts defender out for 10 weeks with knee injury
Hearts defender Craig Halkett has been ruled out for about 10 weeks with a knee injury, manager Craig Levein has verified.
The centre-back was forced off past weekend and tests have shown medial ligament damage has been suffered by him.
Halkett has been a regular fixture at the side in the early phases of the campaign of Levein, making 12 appearances in all competitions and scoring four goals at the Scottish League Cup.
Levein said:Weve got a reasonable idea, it will be around approximately ten months but it might be less or slightly more. Its disappointing on a range of fronts, of course for ourselves because he has been performing well, and because hes been doing well.
After the midfielder was forced off in St Mirren with a problem, hearts are likely to be without Loic Damour for Saturdays visit of Kilmarnock.
He has not trained this week thats a sign he could struggle for tomorrow Levein stated. The plan is he is going to do something now and then we will need to see if there is a reaction tomorrow before we can make a determination.
