Craig Halkett: Hearts defender out for 10 weeks with knee injury
Hearts defender Craig Halkett was ruled out for about 10 weeks with a knee injury, director Craig Levein has confirmed.
The centre-back was forced off past weekend and tests have revealed hes suffered medial ligament damage.
Halkett has been a fixture in the side in this campaigns early stages of Levein, scoring four goals from the Scottish League Cup and making 12 appearances in all tasks.
Levein said:Weve a reasonable concept, itll be around about 10 weeks . however, it might be slightly more. It is disappointing on a number of fronts, of course for ourselves since he has been performing well, and because he has been doing well.
After the midfielder was forced off at St Mirren with a hamstring issue, hearts are also very likely to be without Loic Damour for Saturdays visit of Kilmarnock.
He hasnt trained this week thats a sign he could struggle for tomorrow Levein said. The plan is he will do something now and then well need to see whether theres a response tomorrow before we could make a determination.
