Joseph O’Brien targets Yarmouth feature with two runners
Joseph O’Brien will break ground when saddling his first two runners at Yarmouth at the EBF Stallions John Musker Fillies’ Stakes.
The Classic-winning rider-turned-trainer is going to be represented in the feature 10-furlong Listed prize at the Norfolk trail by Cnoc An Oir and Snapraeceps.
It will be after the pair finished down the field at Gowran Park last 33, the second time this year the two stablemates have raced against each other.
O’Brien said:”These are my initial runners in the track but it is about trying to find some black kind with them and also this race fitted in. They will run.
“They are equally well-bred fillies and are attaining a level where they want black kind today.
“They both ran nice races out last time and this is not quite as aggressive as the company they’ve been keeping.
“The trip is a bit further for both of them but I believe that they should be fine over it as they’re two straightforward fillies.”
Maid For Life has become a model of consistency all season and after finishing second behind the reopposing Gallic for her first start over the trip at Chelmsford last time out trainer Charlie Fellowes is convinced the daughter of Nathaniel will turn the tables and be in the shake up.
Fellowes stated:”She ought to have probably won last time as she was facing just before the line and after it but just on the line her head was up.
“She was carrying a great deal of weight that day and we’ve got a large swing in the weights together with the one that beat her.
“I needed her into a course she enjoys to determine if she remains the trip and she settled and did everything nicely and I had this race in my your mind later.
“She has a bit to find with Fanny Logan but we are taking a look at black type and on ratings she’s got a fantastic chance to acquire some.”
One of two runners at the race to get John Gosden along with Fanny Logan, connections of time out Chelmsford scorer Inference, expect by taking a step up in class in her 40, she can build on that success.
Chris Richardson, racing manager to owners Cheveley Park Stud, stated:”She’s a filly that does not do much in your home.
“It is an opportunity to see where we reside level-wise together with her and she deserves to take her chance.
“They have had a bit of rain but hopefully it has not been too much as she likes top of the ground.”
George Scott is looking forward to providing Moll Davis the opportunity to test her skill in a level that is higher after posting a critical success in handicap business at Doncaster last time out.
Scott said:”She had been very unfortunate at Glorious Goodwood and if she’d won race her form would look very powerful. As we watched at Doncaster, all of the time is improving.
“I’m quite looking forward to see how she’s taken the step up in grade. Therefore there’s very little concern there floor that is Excellent will be OK for her.
“At the moment we do not have many quality horses at the yard and she’s head and shoulders above everything else and when we’ve got a good one she is it I’m expecting her to run a wonderful race.”
