Craig Levein backed by Hearts owner Ann Budge despite poor start
Hearts proprietor Ann Budge says director Craig Levein has been given their backing by the club’s board despite a bad start to the season.
Hearts now sit of this Premiership having only picked up two points from their opening five matches of this year.
Fan protests followed closely last week’s 3-2 home defeat to Motherwell with a few fans for Levein’s sacking calling, out Tynecastle.
Budge submitted a long statement on the club’s site criticising”unfair” coverage of Levein and blowing claims which the team have been lining up a replacement.
“[…] In summary, our Board remains behind the supervisor, his coaching staff and his team,” Budge said.
“Not since he’s’untouchable’, not since he is’all-powerful’, and not because we’re’weak’, as was indicated.
“We stay behind him since we think in the strategy we’ve jointly put together.
“What we do not do is overreact, throw all of our plans from the window and then start again!
“[…] I’d only point out , contrary to other managers, who might get called in front of the board if/when items are going wrong, Craig has to present to the complete board at every board meeting on the way things are moving against [the] plan across every area of the football performance, such as highlighting topics and talking courses of actions.”
