Hearts proprietor Ann Budge claims that the club’s board has given manager Craig Levein their backing despite a poor start to the season.
Hearts sit of the Premiership having only picked up two points from their opening five games of the year.
Last week’s 3-2 home defeat to Motherwell has been followed by fan protests with some fans, out Tynecastle.
Budge posted a lengthy statement on the club site criticising”unfair” coverage of Levein and ignoring claims that the club have been lining up a replacement.
“[…] In short, our Board remains behind the supervisor, his coaching staff and his team,” Budge said.
“Not since he’s’untouchable’, not since he is’all-powerful’, and not because we’re’weak’, as was indicated.
“We remain supporting him since we think in the plan we have jointly gather.
“What we do not do is overreact, throw all our plans from the window and then begin again!
“[…] I would simply point out that, unlike other supervisors, who may get called in front of the plank if/when things are going wrong, Craig must introduce to the entire board at every board meeting on the way things are going against [the] plan across all areas of the football operation, such as highlighting issues and talking courses of action.”
