Joseph O’Brien targets Yarmouth feature with two runners
New ground will be broken by joseph O’Brien when saddling his first two rebounds at Yarmouth at the EBF Stallions John Musker Fillies’ Stakes.
The Classic-winning rider-turned-trainer is going to be represented at the feature 10-furlong Listed prize at the Norfolk monitor by Cnoc An Oir and Snapraeceps.
It’ll be the second time this season the two stablemates have raced against each other following the pair finished down the field in a Recorded contest at Gowran Park last month.
O’Brien said:”All these are my very first runners at the track but it is all about looking to get some black kind with them and this race outfitted in. Hopefully they can run.
“They’re equally well-bred fillies and so are reaching a level where they need black type today.
“They both ran fine races last time out and this isn’t quite as aggressive as the business they have been keeping.
“The trip is a little additional for both of these but I think that they should be OK over it as they’re two straightforward fillies.”
Maid For Life has been a model of consistency all season and after finishing second behind the reopposing Gallic for her first start over the excursion at Chelmsford time outside trainer Charlie Fellowes is convinced the daughter of Nathaniel can turn the tables and also be in the shake up.
Fellowes said:”She ought to have probably won as she had been facing just before the line after it just on the line her mind was up.
“She had been carrying a lot of weight daily and we have a huge swing at the weights together with the one that beat her.
“I took her into a course she likes to see if she stays the trip and she settled and did everything well and I had this race in my your mind afterwards.
“She has got a little to locate with Fanny Logan but we are looking at black kind and on evaluations she has a great opportunity to get some.”
Connections of time outside Chelmsford scorer Inference, among two runners in the race to get John Gosden alongside Fanny Logan, hope by taking a step up in class in her 40, she could build on that success.
Chris Richardson, racing manager to owners Cheveley Park Stud, stated:”She’s a filly that does not do much at home.
“it’s a chance to find out where we reside level-wise together with her and she deserves to take her chance.
“They’ve had a bit of rain but it hasn’t been too much since she enjoys top of the floor .”
George Scott is looking forward to providing the opportunity to test her ability at a level after submitting a success last time to Moll Davis outside.
Scott explained:”She had been quite unlucky at Glorious Goodwood and if she’d won that race her form would look very strong. As we saw at Doncaster, she is improving all of the time.
“I am really looking forward to see how she’s taken the step up in quality. Therefore there’s very little concern there floor will be OK for her.
“At the moment we do not have many excellent horses at the yard and she is head and shoulders above all else and when we have a good one she’s it I’m expecting her to run a great race.”
